Jihlavan currently delivers components to a number of domestic and international aircraft companies. Historically, it participated in producing aircraft that were developed in Czechoslovakia by companies such as Aero Vodochody and Let Kunovice. A new chapter in the company and its further development has opened by projects for Airbus, one of the two major aircraft manufacturers in the world.
This Czech passenger and transport aircraft is designed for regional transport. The first prototype took off in 1969. The aircraft is able to land on small and untended airports, and can be operated in the most extreme environments, from +50 °C to −50 °C. It is certified for IFR flights. More than 1 100 aircraft have been manufactured, with the major customer being the Soviet Aeroflot company. However, these aeroplanes have also been delivered to Asia, Africa and South America. The New Generation aircraft took off for the first time in 2015 and can fly longer distances and carry greater loads compared to the original aircraft.
Jihlavan has been a development partner for most power hydraulic devices in the Technometra group since the end of the 1960s.
We recently developed 12 devices for the New Generation L410 aircraft’s undercarriage in a modern stainless-steel design, power-assisted steering of the nose undercarriage, and flight control trim EMA for flaps and ailerons.Â
The entire development, including successful certification tests for the newly developed devices, was carried out at the beginning of 2017.
The final aircraft OEM Aircraft Industries (LET) resumed production of the former L410 in 2006, and has achieved yearly sales of 12–15 aircraft. Flow supply for the New Generation L410NG was
realised in 2018.
